The Grocery is the excellent comic strip of Guillaume Singelin published in 619.
Find for the first time 4 volumes of The Grocery gathered in a single volume ! A universe tinged with social, violent and raw realism, which relates the daily life of those called "Cornerboys". This comic is reminiscent of the emblematic series based in B-More (Baltimore) The Wire by David Simon.
When he arrives in this lost district of Baltimore where his father has just resumed a grocery store, Elliott, a shy and studious student, wonders if he can make new friends there ... but he adapts unexpectedly to his New environment, and ties with Sixteen and his Corner Boys gang a sincere friendship.
Mr Friedman, grocer grieved by the disappearance of his wife, who takes weapon handling lessons for his self-defense; Washington, a marine desperate by her return from Iraq and victim of the subprime crisis; Ellis One, a new caid of the neighborhood who intends to show who is the boss with great m60s, are all characters whose destinies meet, with as a point of convergence the grocery store in the neighborhood.
