Skira

Éditions Skira Paris publishes art books, artist monographs, catalogues raisonnés and exhibition catalogues for major museums, institutions, galleries and artists.

Albert Skira's birth name was Albert Schira, but when he opened his first publishing house in Lausanne in 1928, his name was spelled "Skira" and thus went down in history. Albert Skira collaborated with Picasso, Matisse and Dali to illustrate both antique and surrealist literary works. He then launched the art magazine Minotaure, and carried out an important work of popularisation, making the general public aware of the different movements in the history of art through his illustrated books.
