Happy birthday Hello Kitty ! Already 45 years since the famous and adorable kitty invests our daily life. It had to be celebrated as it should be.
Iconic, Hello Kitty inspires all generations who never stop wearing or reinterpreting her. Created by Sanrio and designed by Yuko Shimizu in 1974, little cat with a red ribbon shows values of Japanese culture such as friendship, respect and kindness. It is true that I look, nothing wrong comes to mind.
To celebrate her 45th birthday, Sanrio decides devoting a major exhibition to his famous character. Since June 29th, the Hello Kitty® 45th Anniversary Group Show at the Corey Helford Gallery has reunites over 100 international artists with different practices. Painting, drawing, sculpture ... all mediums are represented. You can see Hello Kitty on pop art brownie packaging by Ben Frost, in Super Day in California by Kosyndan who remebers us Totoro or in a psychedelic way imagnied by Okuda San Miguel. As for Bruce Parker we love his Tales of Kitty Combs who presents the famous little kitty as a truly pop culture heroine.
