Banksy, Obey, Mu Pan, Fluctuart, Paris celebrates urban art

The World of Banksy, an immersive experience to do until July 31 at Espace Lafayette-Drouot in Paris. Enigmatic, that's best way to characterize Banksy. Street artist who exploded in the 90's, Banksy is known for his amazing performances. Remember in October 2018, "Love is in the bin" self-destructs at an auction ... Particularly sensitive to art reflections, its marketing and its messages, Banksy is one of the most important artists now. This exhibition, which was created without him, is a summer artistic rendez-vous thanks to the participation of graffiti artists from all over the world to reproduce the most famous frescoes of the English artist. Between full-scale reproductions, works from private collections and background sound, no doubt that immersion is total.

Shepard Fairey aka Obey inaugurates the retrospective imagined by Galerie Itinerrance in Paris, last week. "Facing The Giant: 3 decades of dissent" traces 3 decades of creation during which Obey has experimented several artistic mediums. Shepard Fairey is known as a muralist, illustrator and been known for her self-portraits stencils named "André the Giant Has a Posse". Inimitable, Obey's style has been a great success and has established itself in pop culture. Album covers, movie posters or presidential campaigns, we find his art everywhere. You can see this exhibition until July 27 at Galerie Itinerrance... Cherry on the cake ? "Facing the Giant: 3 Decades of Dissent" is free show !

Fluctuart, first urban art boat in the world, obviously remembers the Parisian motto "Fluctuart Nec Mergitur". A true ode to urban art in all its forms, this unique museum blends lifestyle and true museum experience. Result of projects' call by Paris named "Reinvent the Seine ", Fluctuart will open its doors on July 4 after 4 years of work. We have a pretty good smile thinking of shown artists here : Shepard Fairey aka Obey, Futura 2000, Invader or Swoon whom realises the first Fluctuart traveling exhibition. It's obvious that space of this new modular art place and its lifestyle way have something to seduce. And ? It's free entrance.

For his third exhibition in the Galerie LJ, the Chinese-American artist Mu Pan whose style mixes references to the Japan and China History to those of pop culture. A very beautiful historical and aesthetic mash-up. Mu Pan's work is built around a narration but always with his critical view of society. Inspired by "1001 Statues of the Buddhist Kannon Goddess at the Sanjūsangen-dō Temple in Kyoto, Japan", Mu Pan delivers his interpretation on wooden panels that seem to come alive. Colors, movement and tradition clash in these powerful frescoes that are to be discovered on June 29 at Galerie LJ.
