3D Retro offers us a good dose of Pop Culture with the Mickey Finn by the American artist Coop.
Based on one of his paintings, this Mickey Finn has a pill shape, symbolizing the addictive side that pop culture can have. Coop criticizes here the drugging effect of the Disney world, here symbolized by Mickey, on children. Put them in front of a cartoon and they will be hypnotized as if they had taken a sedative. Anecdote : a Mickey Finn is a drink laced with a sedative drug given to someone without their knowledge, with intent to incapacitate them. It was named after Michael "Mickey" Finn the manager of the Lone Star Saloon in Chicago.
We offer you the Old Timey version with the retro Mickey colors, limited to 200 pieces.
Coop is a legend in the world of illustration, especially known for his posters of rock bands or his concert posters. He worked with Nirvana, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Bad Religion ... The face of a grinning devil with a smoking cigar clamped in its teeth is one of his best-known pieces. He is also famous for his barely clothed Bettie Page-style 1950s soft pornography and B-movie monsters, with the female characters often taking the role of "Devil-Women". Coop is an avid hot rod enthusiast and well-known amongst the Kustom Kulture community. If you like his art, I recommend his book Idle Hands available on our site)
