Yuki the Young Yak by Mark Ryden

Three years ago, a project began as incredible as it is ambiticulous: the creation of a collection plush with the talented Mark Ryden, the godfather of the pop-surrealist movement.

At the time, the painter was just starting to work on a new series, Anima Animals, for an upcoming exhibition at the Shanghai Perrotin gallery. He was then going to create a fantastic new bestiary, populated by more mysterious and colorful creatures than the other.

It was when we approached him by offering him the collaboration that we dreamed so much: to give life to one of these animals. To our joy he accepted and entrusted us with the most precious manufacturing of all: a baby yak named Yuki.

A long and wonderful adventure began, looking for the best materials to design it, with many round trips with the artist, very involved, to find the best ways to transcribe in volume his unique and particular style. The Covid crisis and its many repercussions did not facilitate a rapid gestation of this wonderful animal.

 But here it is!

Approaching Mark Ryden's new exhibition, Animals secrets, at the Perrotin Paris gallery, Artoyz is happy to present Yuki in his white version.

And it's a beautiful 40 cm baby!

Wrapped in a embroidered bag, it is protected by an incredible box. Completely designated by Mark Ryden, she sports a painting made by the artist on her forehead.

This young yak is only available in 500 copies, and each plush, as well as the box that accompanies it, are numbered by hand, making them an invaluable collector for all fans and collectors of the artist around the world .

This exceptional launch also allows us to inaugurate our new label, Golem. A bit like the legendary creature of Prague was, he intends to shape new entities, all in limited version, all in collaboration with the best of the international artist.

It is for us an honor to Entrenner Golem with Mark Ryden, an immense artist that we have admired for so long.
