Uglymely "Art Toys help keep a foot in childhood and not to take yourself seriously"

We all know it, and between us, is it really necessary to present it? Amel or more commonly called Uglymely, is with his blog, The French reference in sneakers!

Today, there are those who follow us from afar, and there are the faithful, Ugly Mely is part of it, indeed it has always supported the events organized by Artoyz, and nothing but for that we thank it warmly. So it's a very logical way that we turned to her: we know her sneakers love, but that of art toys? We guess through his articles, his photos Instagram etc, but we are curious at Artoyz, we wanted to know more. Made: Amel accepts our interview, O joy! Image host Image host

First of all, how long do you collect art toys?

I started buying art toys during my different trips to NYC, I was always looking for a boutique de Toys to bring back a little memory and I really started collecting since I have one at home and I can Really working a display that puts them in values. Image host

How and why came to you?

I always had a foot stuck in childhood, so having toys it's for little that it stands at heart. Image host Image host

Do you remember your first art toys?

My first art toys I think it was a be @ rbrick 100% Merry Xmas! Small size for small budget!

What are the sites and shops where you buy your art toys?

I often China on eBay to find old models but otherwise I do not forget to buy at the Artoyz Street Street of the dry tree and when I go on a trip to NYC I go to Zakka and Kidrobot

Otherwise, we thought you had a little weak for the Medicom, why?

I am a big fan of Medicom, I started by buying a lot of Be @ rbrick 100% then 400% and I was offered a 1000% that's really the pieces I would continue to buy. Image host Image host

And if you had to choose a single artist?

An artist of which it is difficult to acquire a piece it is necessarily the pieces of Kawns That I love the most because it is the most representative of a colorful and childish universe. And I have a weakness for the world of Japanese character Rilakkuma. Image host

If not concretely, in your eyes, what are art toys?

Art Toys represent the way to keep a foot in childhood and make it possible not to take itself seriously from time to time.

The next piece you covet?

I coveted some Be @ RBrick 100% to complete a Medicomtoy panel especially with the Andy Warhol series. Image host

And the room you are most proud to own?

I am very proud to have a 1000% be @ rbrick of 10 years of Rilakkuma and it was offered by my old office colleagues so he is even more value in my eyes. Image host

For you, is the Art Toys collection similar to that of sneakers? Is the operation the same? The same adrenaline?

When we start collecting something we necessarily have similar feelings like adrenaline at the time of purchase, envy, expose it quickly .. even if today the sneakers take more places than toys, I sense that there is this desire for buying and possession that is common.

And the obvious question: if one day you could realize the art toys of your dreams with Artoyz Originals and a brand of sneakers, which would you choose?

If I could I'd like to imagine a 1000% BE @ rbrick with Adidas Originals! And why not, in the image of Nike, Developer Bearbrick in the colors of models / mythical pairs of the brand with 3 bands.
