After, among other things, Bearbrick Beatles or models Kiss, Medicom Toy today we look back at a great Punk classic: God Save The Queen. Cult for music lovers eager for big guitars, we are going to ask ourselves the following question:

What is Sex Pistols?

In the beginning, there is Punk

At the beginning of the 70s, a small revolution took place, particularly in Great Britain. A protest movement, which shares similarities with the hippie movement, but which rejects the very foundations of rock to the point of wanting to create "the year 0 of rock", the punk wants to get rid of long solos, embellishments, intellectualism to offer only raw music. Whether it is the Ramonesthe Clash or even Patti Smith, it is a myriad of mythical artists who will come out of the thigh of the Punk movement.

4 Boys in the Storm

Formed in 1975 in London, the band originally consisted of four members: Johnny Rotten on vocals, Steve Jones on vocals, Paul Cook on drums and Glen Mattlock on bass. The latter did not stay in place for long as he left the group in 1977. The rumor, more or less founded, says that he was forced to leave the band because he listened to the Beatles. More rationally, Mattlock wanted a band that was a little more consensual à la The Who, which created a lot of tension with Rotten. He will be replaced by...

...Sid Vicious

He is said to be the inventor of pogo, hit journalist Nick Kent with a bicycle chain and Patti Smith's brother with bottles, died of an overdose at the age of 21 after potentially murdering his girlfriend at the time, wore a faded t-shirt with a swastika on stage... It is an understatement to say that Sid Vicious had a tumultuous life. Joining the band between 1977 and 1978, he became the standard-bearer of punk in all its most provocative aspects.

A founding album.

Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols. It is the only studio album by the Sex Pistols. Enjoying a sultry reputation following a disastrous TV interview (an interview that cost Bill Grundy’s career) and a tour (Anarchy Tour for the U.K. Tour), the album was released on November 12, 1977 and became a milestone in the history of Punk.

God Save The Queen

God Save The Queen is the anthem of the United Kingdom, a symbol of a country's attachment to its constitutional monarchy. So when the Sex Pistols decided to cover this anthem, the scandal was not long in coming. Defection from the label, censorship on several media, refusal of the printers to work on the single when they discovered the cover of the single. It was a huge success with 150,000 copies sold less than two weeks after its release.
