Cult for music lovers eager for big guitars, so we will ask ourselves the following question:

What's Sex Pistols?

In the beginning, there is punk

In the early 1970s, a small revolution took place, especially in Great Britain. Protest movement, which therefore shares similarities with the hippie movement, but which rejects the very foundations of rock to the point of wanting to create "the year 0 of rock", the punk wants to get rid of extended solos, frills, intellectualism to offer only raw music. Whether it's the Sweeping, THE Clash or even Patti Smith, it is a myriad of mythical artists who will come out of the thigh of the punk movement.

4 boys in the storm

Formed in 1975 in London, the group is the origin of four members: Johnny Rotten on vocals, Steve Jones on vocals, Paul Cook on drums and Glen Mattlock in the bass. The latter will not remain in place long since he left the group in 1977. The rumor, more or less founded, says that he would have been forced to leave the group because he listened to the Beatles. More rationally, Mattlock wanted a slightly more consensual group to The Who which created a good number of tensions with Rotten. It will be replaced by ...

... Sid Vicious

He would be the inventor of the pogo, struck the journalist Nick Kent with a bicycle chain and the brother of Patti Smith with bottles, died of an overdose at 21 after having potentially murdered his partner of the time, wore a tired t-shirt with a swine cross on stage ... that is to say that Sid Vicious had a tumultuous life. Joining the group between 1977 and 1978, he became the punk standard bearer in everything he has most provoking.

A founding album.

Never mind the bollocks, here's the sex pistols. This is the only studio album of the Sex Pistols. Taking advantage of a sulphurous reputation following a disastrous interview TV (interview that cost the career of Bill Grundy by the way) and a tour (Anarchy Tour for the U.K. Tour) just as disastrous, the album is released on November 12, 1977 and became a milestone in the history of punk.

God Save the Queen

God Save the Queen is the hymn of the United Kingdom, a symbol of the attachment of a country to its constitutional monarchy. So when the sex pistols decide to take up this anthem, the scandal is not long in coming. Defection of the label, censorship on several media, refusal of printers to work on the single by discovering the cover of said single. It will be a huge success with 150,000 copies sold less than two weeks after its release.
