On the occasion of Halloween, we went to meet the distinguished members of the Artoyz team to ask them a simple but nevertheless essential question:

What is your favorite horror film?

Ludovic (Marketing Director)

An inveterate fan of genre cinema, Ludovic had difficulty choosing just one film. From Tokyo Gore Police to Midsommar passing through Paranormal Activity or even Serious, it is finally It Follows that he will remember. Horrific metaphor of a youth who cannot love themselves without protection, it is also wonderfully staged in addition to having an extraordinary soundtrack by Disasterpeace.

Hasina (E-Commerce Apprentice)

Weaned off horror films since an early viewing of Chucky at the age of 6. Hasina avoids this type of cinema to the point that even Disney's Pinocchio is enough to scare her. However, she really liked it Sinners released this year which makes it, by default, his favorite horror film.

Vincent (Workshop Manager)

A big fan of encore films, Vincent loves monsters. It was therefore quite natural that he turned to Nightbreed of Clive Barker (Hellraiser) as the film is an ode to creatures and marginalized people.

Elsa (work-study graphic designer)

Liking the paranormal, but hating films with murderers or clowns, Elsa chose a film by James Wan (Saw, Malignant) : Conjuring. It also includes the second part of the franchise in this selection. Annabelle.

Victor (3D modeler)

A video game lover, Victor naturally chose an adaptation of one of the great games of the PlayStation 1. Rest assured, it is neither about Resident Evil by Paul W.S Anderson nor the horrible Doom with The Rock. No, this is a very successful adaptation by Christophe Gans of the saga Silent Hill. And good news, after an infamous second opus, Gans has taken over the license to offer a third film to the franchise in 2026.

Michael (CEO and co-founder of Artoyz)

Since we are talking about Silent Hill, Michael hesitated for a long time to select Jacob's Ladder for this article, a film which greatly inspired the first Silent Hill video game for the design of his creatures. He could also have retained his first fear at 8 years old before Amityville, but it is ultimately Donnie Darko who obtained his favors. Not necessarily a horror film in the classic sense of the term, it takes place on Halloween and has some very scary moments in addition to being quite upsetting in what it tells about adolescence.

Jean-Charles (B2B manager)

Well of science as soon as he approaches auteur cinema, Jean-Charles immediately responded when I asked him the fateful question "what is your favorite horror film". Shining. Who else than the meeting between the intellectualism of Kubrick and the popular side of Stephen King to bring together spectators eager for thrills?

Adrien (editorial manager)

As the author of this article, I will allow myself to speak in the first person. Horror is a genre populated by frankly mediocre films (like all popular genres) but, if you take a little interest in it, you will find immense masterpieces. Morse Code is one of those. Reinventing a mythical creature of terror (I won't say more so as not to spoil it.), violent and unhealthy, it is also a great film about love which ends with a scene of crazy beauty.
