The Book of Rhyme and Reason : Hip-Hop 1994 - 1997

In the 90s, Peter Spirer embarked on a three-year odyssey to create a realistic portrait of hip-hop, by interviewing more than 80 artists.

During the shooting, Spirer played the paparazzi with his camera. The latter give life to the book of Rhyme & Reason. According to Spirer himself: "Rollei allowed me to capture incredible moments: Puffy being style in his office while juggling with three tasks at a time, Biggie opening record plates on his sofa.

This book presents more than 130 photos taken between 1994 and 1997. While hip-hop celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023, it is pretty cool to see these images of the founding period!
