NieR Art – KODA KAZUMA WORKS

2017 will have been an important year for video games with the release of the switch on the one hand, and a whole bunch of indecent quality games on the other. Breath of the wild, Mario Odyssey, Cuphead, Hollow Knight, What Remains of Edith Finch and a surprise expected by only a handful of connoisseurs: Nier Automata.

Sequel to Nier (2010), itself a spin-off of Drakengard (2003), the game was a huge critical success when Platinum Games was in a rather sad artistic impasse, but also a public success which allowed the Nier franchise to relaunch to the delight of Square Enix.

You will find in this 160-page book, artworks from NieR:Automata, NieR Re[in]carnation (a mobile game that follows on from automata) and Nier Replicant ver 1.22474487139 (the remake/remaster of the first game on new generation consoles ), all overseen by artist Koda Kazuma.
