Popeye

Popeye is an American comic strip character created by Elzie Crisler Segar. He first appeared in 1929 in "Thimble Theatre".

Popeye is a sailor with an often incomprehensible language who gains superhuman strength from eating spinach. He is often accompanied by his girlfriend Olive Oyl and his sworn enemy Brutus.

Popeye's adventures have been adapted into cartoons, films and other media over the decades, and he remains an icon of popular culture.
