Disney Supersize - Pinocchio (original)

Inspired by Carlo Collodi's tale, Pinocchio is the second animated feature film from Disney studios.

Released in February 1940, the film was warmly received by critics, with the New York Times even calling it "the best cartoon ever made". Unfortunately, in 1940 a world war, the second to be precise, will prevent the film from being a financial success. Indeed, at that time, the European market represented 45% of Disney studios' revenues (to give an example, the film would not be released until May 1946 in France.). At the end of its first exploitation, the film accounts for 2 million dollars which is four times less than that of Snow White.

However, the quality always pays off in the end and the film will have accounted for, re-released after re-released, more than 84 million dollars and is, even today, considered by many to be artistically unbeatable.
