Pure Trance

Junko Mizuno is a Japanese artist. His work is characterized by a brutal opposition between childish, cute drawing and sordid themes, which is sometimes called "kawaii gore" or "sleek kawaii".

With this first story, the author describes a dark and post-apocalyptic universe, in which nurses try to treat patients suffering from an incurable disease. At the end of the last World War, humanity left the devastated Surface to create a new Underworld.

In this future, food exists only in the form of capsules, the Pure Trance whose overconsumption causes serious physical disorders. We find Junko Mizuno's limitless imagination, allowing the creation of a science fiction universe as strange as it is excessive.
