Piet Parra and Case Studyo launch the Tomato Chair !
Moreover, you have surely discovered his ultra colorful illustrations in collaborations sneakers with brands such as Nike or Vans. Perfectly in the air with its line between the figurative and the abstract, Piet Parra returns with a sculpture co-produced with the creative agency Case Studyo: the Tomato Chair. Presented at Art Basel's VOLTA 2019 in Switzerland from June 10 to 15, this sculpture follows a first collaboration between the Dutch artist and Case Studyo in 2017. It was then about the Tomato Lamp "Give Up", the dimensions much less important.
Change of scale for this Tomato Chair, 1m20, with a comfortable seat that proves how much Piet Parra can stand out in both 2D and 3D. By the way, this sculpture does not make you to think of another piece design? It is indeed a tribute to the Finnish designer Eero Aarnio, monster of Pop Design, and creator of the inevitable Ball Chair in 1963. If we find the wink to its red seat, the blue of the Tomato Chair blithely differs from the Ball Chair presented exclusively in bi-chromie.
No doubt that Piet Parra is still striking with this very pop design piece that you can enjoy another two days at VOLTA from Art Basel in Switzerland!
Finally, in love with sneakers know that Piet Parra has just released his latest collaboration Nike SB Dunk Low. We say that, we do not say anything ...
