The Beastie Boys are such an iconic American hip-hop band that the characters created by director Spike Jonze for the video clip of the track "Sabotage" have become characters in their own right! When Spike Jonze approached the Beastie Boys with the script for Sabotage, he was known for his skateboarding videos and had already directed a video for them, not yet for Kanye West or Daft Punk.

Sabotage works like the opening credits of a 70's TV series, a believable caricature of a Starsky and Hutch version of screaming sirens! Here are Ad-Rock, MCA and Mike D of the Beastie Boys more involved than ever in their roles as crooked, loser cops with black moustaches, aviator sunglasses and long ties. Their characters Nathan Wind, "The Rookie" and "The Chief" are born, and even have their names in the credits!
The video for the song Sabotage, which is part of the band's fourth album, "Ill Communication", will propel the band to interplanetary stardom. The group has developed a raging style of hip-hop saturated with sounds and hyper aggressive rock instruments (electric guitar, drums). They are the unexpected and explosive fusion of the world of skateboarders and the world of American hip-hop, at that time dominated by the sound of Dr Dre, Tupac or Snoop Doggy Dog.
Their adventures continue with ReAction figures ! These figurines are a vibrant tribute to the iconic 10 cm articulated figures that have populated American bedrooms and playgrounds since the 1970s.
