Wild Things are happening - The art of Maurice Sendak

This book was published following the retrospective of Sendak's work in museums in the United States and Europe in 2022-24. Wild Things Are Happening highlights his relationship with art history and the influence of his art collection on his images. The book presents sketches, storyboards and unpublished paintings that will make you travel in his universe.

We can find there an essay by the famous historian Thomas Crow which evokes the cultural context of Sendak's most famous book, Where the Wild Things Are. It also includes interviews with various key collaborators of the author. More than 150 books have emerged during his 60-year career, as well as illustrations for classics by the Brothers Grimm, Melville and Tolstoy.
