Portrait #18: Melodreama
Here we are Wednesday, interviews day! Originally from Canada, Melodreama, artist in the soul shows us his pretty creations.
Tell us a bit about your work, what are your tools? Your inspirations? When did you start working on art toys ? And what is your first or latest creation?
I'm about sure I was born an artist and I always had a "thing" for toys. This evolution seemed natural and inevitable to me. I first started by creating plushies that I called "popcakes" before I even discovered the art movement toys. I also painted a few munnys with poscas and acrylic painting in 2005 but I was above all a fan/collector. And it was in 2010 that I got to know "The polymer clay" and Boom! I immediately became addicted.
The "lunatics" are robots camouflaged by a coat covered with craters. They were designed by extraterrestrials in a factory, at a space station somewhere on Andromeda. I am sure they came to exterminate us!
There are so many that I don't know where to start. So I'm going to share my latest creations, the "lunatics":
Tell us a bit about your job, what are your tools? Your inspirations? When Did You Start Working On Art toys ? And what's your First or Last Creation?
I'm Pretty Sure I was Already Making Art in the Womb and I Always Had a Thing for toys. Which i figure, made the inevitable progression… i made theseies i Called "Popcakes" Before I Even Heard of the Art Toy movement. I PAINTED A Couple of Munnys with POSCA PAINT MARKERS AND ACRYLICS BACK IN 2005 But Remained More of A FAN/COLLECTOR UNTIL ABOUT 2010. Then, I was introduced to polymer Clay and boom! Nothing Else Mattered, I was Instantly Addict… As for pictures, there's so many that i would know now white to begin or end. SO, i'll share my latest characters; The "Lunatics". Lunatics are robots camouflageed by a fuzzy, crater like follows. They are designed and creative by aliens in a factory, we have space resort someWhere in Andromeda. Despite their docile appearance, do not be foooled. It's all part of the Diabolical Plan and they are within a double, Programd to Kill!
